Objective of the event:

To provide incoming students with a comprehensive understanding of the program's curriculum, resources, and job opportunities.

The orientation aims to familiarize students with the academic environment, build a sense of community, and equip them with the necessary tools to excel in their studies and future careers in library science.

Event Description

The Department of Library and Information Science organized an Orientation Session for the students of Library and Information Science on 23^rd August, 2023 in the Seminar Hall.

The session commenced with the introduction of the faculty members of the department. Dr. Sonal Jain, Head of the Department enlightened the students with the scope, objectives and learning outcomes of the programme and also provided the details of the Departmental website Dr. Reena Anand made a presentation explaining the scheme of examination, credit system, departmental activities, library facilities and job opportunities in the field.

Dr. Sonal Jain gave the Vote of Thanks and best wishes to students and assured the students for all the support.

 A Group Photo was taken at the end of the programme.

The session was an interesting and interactive event.

Outcome of the event:

Event included students gaining a clear understanding of the program's structure, resources, and expectations. They felt more comfortable navigating the campus and library facilities, and had established connections with fellow students and faculty members. Additionally, students were better prepared to engage in their studies, take advantage of extra-curricular opportunities, and begin building a foundation for their successful journey in the field of library science.
