Objective of the event:

To provide incoming students a thorough understanding of the curriculum, available resources, and career opportunities in library science. It seeks to introduce them to the academic environment, foster a sense of community, and provide essential tools for success in their studies and future professional paths.

Event Description:

 

The Department of Library and Information Science held an Orientation Session for its students in the Seminar Room on August 23rd, 2024.

The event began with the introduction of the department’s faculty members. Dr. Sonal Jain, Head of the Department, provided insights into the scope, objectives, and learning outcomes of the program. She also highlighted key information about the departmental website and gave a detailed presentation on the examination scheme, credit system, departmental activities, library facilities, and career prospects in the field. The session concluded with a group photo and was marked by engaging interactions throughout.

The event provided students with a clear understanding of the program's structure, available resources, and academic expectations. It helped them feel more confident navigating the campus and library facilities. Additionally, students were better equipped to actively engage in their studies, explore extracurricular opportunities, and start building a solid foundation for a successful career in library science.
