Summary/Description:
Central Library organized Orientation, User Awareness and Training Session of IISU e-library and National Digital Library of India” from 3rd August to 23rd August, 2023. More than 366 students and faculty attended the session. Discipline-wise sessions were also conducted for students.
Dr. Sonal Jain, Librarian gave an overview to the students about the library resources (books, journals, periodicals, online resources, newspapers) and facilities. She oriented them about the Book Bank facility provided by the library and other healthy practices offered by the library.
She demonstrated them about IISU digital library and National Digital Library, how to login remotely and oriented them on how to use and access the online web resources. She gave an overview to the students about the various e-resources subscribed by the library and the resources available in open access platform. She oriented them on how to use the technology and access the online web resources. The students were informed about the National Digital Library of India (NDL India) which is an all-digital library that stores information (metadata) about different types of digital contents. She also make them aware about the benefits of e-resources and to avoid plagiarism and acknowledge by mentioning references and making a proper bibliography.
Outcome of the activity: Students and faculty came to know about different resources and collection of the library and understand how to make use of the resources for academic enrichment.
